I can’t even tell you how much JOY and DELIGHTED QUIET FOCUS illuminated our home last night when your package of scratch art items arrived! My 13-year-old daughter, 11-year-old daughter, and 5-year-old son were all completely ABSORBED in scratching their books for over an hour! We had to tell them all to put it away so we could set the table for dinner. What is the difference between the 8+ version and the Jr. 5+ version?
The 8+ and 5+ books have the same scratch art pages, but the informative activity pages are designed to be meet the different needs of these two different age groups.
The Jr. 5+ version has been tailored for early readers and includes additional puzzles and activities such as dot to dot, mazes, and color by number to keep your younger scratch artists interested and engaged in the content.
The 8+ is written for the 8–12 year reading level and has more opportunities to do research to answer questions that are asked in the informative pages.
Both versions have an answer key at the end.
What is the Holy Roller?
One of the questions we got asked when we were launching "Trace Your Faith - Around the Chruch," was "What do you do about the mess?" The mess of scratch art has never really bothered me but my oldest was more of a trace the line scratch artist and so the mess was never really an issue, but I know other kids really like to scratch a lot off.
Knowing this was a problem for parents, I did a ton of research and tried out a variety of different lint rollers, mini vacuums, etc. until I found what seemed to be the perfect solution:
1) it easily and quickly cleaned up the scratch art scrapings off of the table, floor, pew, and clothes (it will also pick up goldfish crumbs and pet hair)
2) it is washable and reusable (environmentally friendly, no landfill waste)
3) it is quiet and doesn't require charging or batteries (like a mini vacuum)
4) the kids love it and ask to use it to clean up their mess (this one was the biggest seller for me lol)
The winner - a portable, washable and reusable sticky silicone ball that easily fits in your child's hand and makes clean up easy and fun.
The name I can take no credit for, credit for that goes to my friend Rachel, the best I had was Picky Uppy (which sounds a lot like something from Bluey).
How do you use and clean the Holy Roller?
To Use:
1) Pop the part of the cover off that has the little ledge.
2) Roll over the scratch art scrapings that have been brushed off onto the table, pew, floor, or your lap.
It is NOT recommended to roll the ball on the scratch art pages due to the very sticky nature of the silicone ball. It has a strong adhesion to the page unlike the hard surfaces or clothes that you will likely brush the scraping onto.
3) Put cover back on and store in your Mass bag, purse, etc.
4) You can use this many times before having to wash it. You will wash it once it has lost its stickiness.
To Clean:
1) Pop out the silicone ball.
2) Rinse under water until clean
3) Blot dry with a cloth towel or let air dry.
